Sanctuary (From Violence)

This is an unusual album in many ways. To begin with, every cent from its sale will support victims of domestic violence. This is due to the combined efforts of the artists and production team covering all the costs in advance of making the Sanctaury Album available for purchase. The combination of styles is also worth commenting on; at first glance it is difficult to imagine how they could rest easily beside each other. However, the quality of the artists involved combined with a common theme or tone which presents itself - almost subconciously - allows for a sense of unity in the work. Supporting a combination of prominent and emerging Irish artist, (and one or two neighbours), the work includes Gregorian Chant from the Benedictine Monks of Glenstal Abbey; the flawless vocals of Moya Brennan - lead singer with the popular Irish Folk group Clannad; the power, strength and sweetness of Cara O'Sullivan's soprano voice along side contemporary classical, popular and Irish Traditional music. Not every track will please everyone however, everyone should find at least one or two tracks worth adding to their collection as the range of genres involved in the work is truly amazing.

Great Album

This is a great album and features some brilliant musicians and many different genres of music. There is something for everyone on this album. And a great cause too as all of the money from the sales of the album is going to help charities supporting victims of domestic abuse.
