Classic Cranberries

Let's pretend that this is The Cranberries 3rd album. if we were to to that we would see it's natural ease into the charts like it's predecessors "Everybody else is doing it so why can't we?" and "No Need to Argue". "Roses" is an album cut from the same cloth. It's dreamy, charismatic, jangly and Dolores' vocals are sublime. No harshness, no screaming, no ranting and misguided political statements (well, "schizophrenic playboys" shows a slant of politics) If you liked the debut and sophomore albums then this offering will delight you. There is really no new ground on this album creatively speaking, but that's what's good about it. I hope this will bring the band back into the fray as one of Irelands top exports! Well done guys!
Top Tracks "Conduct" "Tomorrow" "Roses" "Raining in my Heart"

So disappointing

As a lifelong cranberries fan I couldn't wait for this release, so it pains me to say that not only is it their worst album but one of the weakest albums from any artist these past few yrs.... There simply are not any songs with the sniff of a hook, with the possible exception of 'Conduct' (a real grower) and 'Tomorrow' (still a relatively weak lead single)... Lyrically it's as bad as ever, (whats with the obession of rhyming couplets?) and it still shocks me that no producer, fellow band member or record-company exec tells Dolores to cop on. Limericks finest are sadly no more& the fact that this is flopping is no surprise. Guess I'll just have to satisfy my cranberry needs with 'Stars'... And some of the other album-only gems from 'Everyone else...' and 'No need to argue'... Least we still have Sinead O Connor's album to fly the flag....

Formed: 1990 in Ireland

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

Combining the melodic jangle of post-Smiths indie guitar pop with the lilting, trance-inducing sonic textures of late-'80s dream pop and adding a slight Celtic tint, the Cranberries became one of the more successful groups to emerge from the pre-Brit-pop U.K. indie scene of the early '90s. Led by vocalist Dolores O'Riordan, whose keening, powerful voice is the most distinctive element of the group's sound, the group initially made little impact in the United Kingdom. It wasn't until the lush ballad...
