Editors’ Notes

On her second album, 21, Adele sings of loss and vulnerability with an assertive voice that burns with fury as she gains momentum. With production by Rick Rubin and Paul Epworth, the “Chasing Pavements” star picks up where she left off with 19— a bit older and wiser, influenced by the classics and new movements. “Rolling In the Deep” and “Someone Like You” scale new heights of misery, but it’s Adele’s conviction—not pity—that forms the lasting afterimage.

Customer Reviews

Sensational

An absolute superstar! Been listening to the album all night since I downloaded it and it's awesome. Someone Like You is one of the best songs written in years. We'll be talking about Adele as one of the greats in a few years time!!! Buy this record.

Very good but I don't get the massive hype!

First of all I want to start off by saying it is a good album, some beautiful songs on there like Someone Like You, Turning Tables,
Set Fire To the Rain, Rolling in the Deep and Take it All. BUT, I don't get the massive hype that is surrounding her at the moment, yes some of her songs are
brilliant and her voice is incredible but some songs just seem to fall flat and are quite boring. I understand how she has done well but I don't think it deserves to be at the top of the UK charts for months and months.

But to each their own, everyone is entitled to their own opinions!

Unbelievable!

One of the best albums in the last twelve months. Each song is brilliant, can't stop listening to it! Someone Like You and Set Fire to the Rain are the best songs on the album. Love it!

When the U.K. press began dubbing Adele "the next Amy Winehouse" in late 2007, the hype didn't touch upon the heavy singer/songwriter influence found in the Londoner's music. Influenced by Roberta Flack and Suzanne Vega as much as Jill Scott, Adele soon became a phenomenon in her own right; her second album 21 eventually sold an estimated...
