Album Review

Perfect Day is Cascada's second album of 2007 (although Everytime We Touch was originally released in 2006) and it sounds like she thought she had found a winning formula. The opening track and Top Ten single "What Hurts the Most" begins as a ballad backed by an acoustic guitar for the first 40 seconds, with the only hint of the electro-pop to come being the reverb on Natalie Horler's vocal. But then the drum beat kicks in and indeed you have another Cascada album after all, with Europop electronic beats and the production of DJ Manian and Yanou at the fore, although Horler's voice is never dominated by the music. Avril Lavigne's "Sk8er Boy" and Pink's "Just Like a Pill" have all their inherent anger extracted, and the Cascada versions become pleasant tunes to dance to. As with her previous album, Perfect Day ends with a chillout version of the first single, subtitled "Yanou's Candlelight Mix." [Perfect Day was also released as a 13-track edition in the U.K.]

Good Stuff!

Cascada has surpassed all of everyone's expectations. When she bounced onto music scene in Summer 2006 with 'Everytime We Touch', who'd have thought she'd not only top the Irish music charts for 6 weeks, release another three singles, but also release an album - which topped the Irish albums chart for five weeks! And here we are onto album No.2, typically a difficult obstacle in any musicians career. So how is it? Well, it's quite good. VERY good. Is it as good as the first one? Probably not, but Cascada has produced another really good trance album which her fans no doubt crave. I do, however, have to deduct marks for her ill-advised cover of Avril Lavigne's 'Sk8er Boi'. The best tracks include 'What Hurts The Most', 'Runaway', 'What do you want from me' and 'Who do you think you are'. Overall though, very impressive stuff. Go, buy it now!

better than last album

cascada is back and this album has much better songs!! The songs are catchier and they're great to dance to. Best songs are what hurts the most, because the night, just like a pill and runaway. Great album!!

Not Again !!!!

She uses the same beat over and over again! All of her songs just end up sounding the same !!!!!! Just buy one song then you have them all . Not good album .

Originally called Cascade until legal conflicts forced them to change their name, Cascada is the slick, uplifting Euro-dance trio featuring producers DJ Manian and Yanou along with vocalist Natalie Horler, although Horler is sometimes presented as Cascada herself. Horler was born in Bonn, Germany, to English parents and grew up loving all sorts of music. At age 18 she was doing studio work for various producers when she met DJ Manian and Yanou, the latter of whom had worked with DJ Sammy on the worldwide...
