I have used the AIB online banking app for a few years now and overall I find it very good and easy to use, there are a couple of issues that bug me however and it revolves around my Visa account,

when paying a bill online I used to use either my current account or Visa account, however I am now no longer able to pay a bill by Visa, only from my current account, I was never given an explanation for this (just got the standard ‘we no longer provide this service’ answer, I was told I can still pay a bill by Visa by going into the post office and using my Visa card, eh ... hello, the whole idea of online banking is to make things handier and to save the customer from having to physically leave the house to do this,

The other issue I have, I used to sometimes transfer money from my Visa account into my current account, AIB have also stopped customers from being able to do this, again AIB never gave me an answer for this and told me I can still do it but I would have to go into the bank, withdraw money from my Visa account and then deposit it into my current account, again this is stupid and now I have to waste my time queuing up and then waste the AIB staffs time physically withdrawing and depositing funds when I should be able to do it online in a few seconds, it just makes no sense,

However overall I am glad to be able to do lots of other stuff online and the AIB app is very easy to use.

Latest update

That is outrageously that you do not care about your customers. Once you understand that your latest release caused loads problems why you didn’t roll back all what you did? Have you ever heard about an incident management? Instead of rolling back the app you drop all employees to follow up with every customer!!! Now my customer experience talking with support. Nothing was resolved. Finally I was told to use a new phone. Technology: That is a most stupid idea I ever seen to use a browser at the background to process operations. I have never seen such outdated technology and so poor interface. Your advises: Do you think I should care about the browser? Probably you used safari and Chrome before and to save the money on development process you decided to use the same on both OS. Great idea to save money and limit expenses on development, but that have a great impact on your customers! Finally no help and problem have not been sold. I am really won’t envy support team to follow up that stupid decision.

Update:
I found out the solution. I think it might be helpful for you to bear in mind another factor that might have impact on the security update. I found out that each time I tried to proceed the security update I was at work. I tried install update via mobile network and it passed. So probably some of networks might have security settings that block your update. Together with your recommendations you need to check if client connected via Wi-Fi or mobile network.

Utterly hopeless

Went into AIB branch and asked to set up an account. They said I had to do this online if I didn’t have a revenue tax number. (I’ve just moved back from the UK and have been living there 6 years and now living with my parents in Ireland and just secured a new job).
I set up my account online, did the ID check and then the app crashed. I called AIB and they said my registration number will be posted out to me. 3 weeks later and no letter. I called AIB back and they said I have to come back in again in person and present my ID as well as proof of address. I informed them I’m living at my parents and therefore my name is not on the bills. I asked can they resolve the app crash issue as my ID check had been successful using it before it crashed. They said they cannot resolve the IT issue of the app and my account cannot go ahead now without proof of address even though you don’t need proof of address when setting an account up on the app. Absolutely hopeless service and terrible customer service. Didn’t apologise once for the app not working and didn’t make any effort to contact IT and try to resolve the issue. AIB please take some responsibility for your IT issues and assist to resolve them and not keep someone waiting 6+ weeks just to set up a bank account…
