Algorithms
This game is - I believe having played it for for about a month - driven by algorithms. They’re good algorithms but they’re algorithms and a user looses an amount of control in that case.
I like to playing where the game is about random dice and good backgammon. Unfortunately this app seems to go for casino-style backgammon where it’s all about the money, this causes problems then when there is are algorithms driving the game when you don’t know if the algorithm is or is not preferring some outcome to the game. An example outcome would be one which keeps both users using the app longer than they might otherwise.
There is ample research in the world about how to create addictive behaviour in people via application of game theory.
I think the game producers should publish all information about algorithms used by the app, the preferences that are coded into them. They should also publish detailed information about potential addictive behaviour which can be caused by the app and how that behaviour might be caused by those algorithms.
Overall I say don’t install this app because you are not playing backgammon (non-determinist), you are playing algorithms (determinist). Unless you’re ok with that. Then install it, knock yourself out (the effect is similar).

Excellent game
Update: dice roll seems unfair. Be careful, very clever in giving you just enough wins to pull you into spending more money to keep going.
Love backgammon. But getting one where you can turn off chat too is brilliant. No bugs after a week of playing every day.
