About Adrianne Archie

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember hearing the D'Angelo, Brown Sugar album on the front steps of the pentecostal church where I was raised and going in and experiencing worship immediately following that experience. That was the birth of Gospel/Soul/R&B in me! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? D'Angelo, Brown Sugar Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill Musiq Soulchild, Aijuswanaseing Each of these albums were the sound track of two decades of my life. I have always been captivated by the originality, authenticity and vulnerability in these bodies of work. The stories these artist have told resonate with me the most. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Aingonlechugo” This was the very first song I ever wrote and recorded professionally in the studio. You can see that even the spelling of the album was directly influenced by MusiQ Soulchild's Aijuswanaseing. It was the "gospel" spread over a soulful R&B track. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I'll never forget traveling with 10 of my closest friends to Chicago on a whim to perform in a midnight gospel musical as the final artist at 2am in the morning. We blazed! That performance was the start of my professional career. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Deep, funky, soulful R&B blended with the Gospel will always be what draws me to it the most and pours out of me the most. It is the fabric of my being. I am one of a few who has committed to this sound and style. It's gully gospel.
