About Albert Hammond
Albert Hammond formed a productive songwriting partnership with Mike Hazelwood, scoring an international hit in 1968 with "Little Arrows" for Leapy Lee. The pair also sang with Family Dogg, reaching the U.K. Top Ten with "Way of Life" in 1969. Hammond relocated to Los Angeles in 1971, and signed to the Mums label. His second single, 'It Never Rains In Southern California', sold a million in the USA alone and reached the Top 5. The hits, 'The Free Electric Band' and 'I'm A Train' followed, although subsequent releases flopped Hammond continued to enjoy great success as a writer, notably with 'The Air That I Breathe' for the Hollies, 1977's 'When I Need You' for Leo Sayer, and 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now' for Starship.
