About Bill Wence

Born in California, this musician honed his skills when he moved to Nashville in 1973 to pursue a career in songwriting. After working as a disc jockey at various radio stations in Nashville, Bill Wence got his break when he joined Tom T. Hall as a keyboardist, performing around 800 times with the legendary musician. He has also toured with Bobby Bare, Slim Whitman, and Jeannie C. Riley, among others. In the 1970s, while concentrating on performing and songwriting, he also oversaw the business aspect of the industry. As a result, he created Bill Wence Promotions, a company which represented Jerry Jeff Walker, Randy Travis, and Collin Raye. Having had four consecutive singles he wrote in 1979 and 1980 chart on Billboard was a great success. In 2001, with some help from a variety of musicians and supporting cast, Wence released California Callin' on 615 Records. He continues to perform around Nashville, as well as running his company and songwriting. ~ Jason MacNeil
