About Cane 141

Carrying in the tradition of bands like the Pale Fountains and Moose, Michael Smalle, Shane Burke, Colm Hogan, Ronan Burke, Paul Brennan, and Gerard Connolly are Cane 141, a band that plays a breezy brand of refined indie pop embellished by synthesizers and a slew of other instruments – from turntables to woodwinds to strings – contributed by a small cast of supporting musicians. They've also taken a number of more experimental influences such as Silver Apples, Pere Ubu, and Popol Vuh, and they blend their disparate influences together for a rather unique blend. Scene from 6AM, their debut LP, was released by Secret in 1998. They hopped over to Setanta for 2000's Garden Tiger Moth. ~ Andy Kellman
