Previously a band but later more of a one-man concern with producer Jesse McClear at the helm, the electro-industrial group Heavy Water Factory formed in Michigan in the mid-'90s. McClear was originally joined by William West, but by the 1997 release of Author of Pain and Cries from Hell, McClear was a solo act with guest vocals from World of Hurt's Scott Hixson and Battery's Maria Azavedo. ~ John Bush
