Jazz Gitti

About Jazz Gitti

Born Martha Buthbul on May 13, 1946, in Vienna, Jazz Gitti is an Austrian schlager singer whose recording career spans several decades, beginning in the 1980s and peaking in popularity during the early '90s. Her career took flight in 1990 with her chart-topping full-length album debut, A Wunda. Billed to Jazz Gitti & Her Disco Killers, the album spawned the number three smash hit single "Kränk Di Net." Subsequent albums during the '90s were fairly popular, but didn't rival the success of A Wunda. Although she remained steadily active, Jazz Gitti's popularity declined until her 2006 album Meine Wahren Memoiren, a major hit released by the Rebeat label. The Top Ten albums Ob Heit Moch I Nur Wos I Wü (2007) and Pures Leben (2009) followed. ~ Jason Birchmeier
