Lexie Mountain Boys

About Lexie Mountain Boys

A Massachusetts native who moved to Baltimore after graduating from Boston's Emerson College, Alexandra Maachi originally performed solo over her own musique concrete backing tapes, but then crafted the concept of an all-female a cappella group. Following a dauntingly experimental self-titled 2006 release on the tiny Heresee label, the Lexie Mountain Boys established a consistent five-woman lineup of Maachi, Sam Garner, Amy Waller, Amy Harmon, and Katherine Hill, and released the more subdued, tribal-sounding SACRED VACATION in 2008.
