About m-flo

m-flo is a popular, influential, and critically acclaimed Japanese hip-hop group composed of DJ/producer Taku Takahashi, MC Verbal, and vocalist Lisa. ∙ Blending rap and vintage soul-pop, their 1999 debut maxi-single, the tripod e.p., reached the Top 10 on the Japanese charts. ∙ The video for their biggest hit single, 2001’s “Come Again,” has more than 32 million views. ∙ The title track of their 2001 sophomore album, Expo Expo, went to No. 3 in Japan and featured Deee-Lite DJ Towa Tei and American hip-hop artists Bahamadia and Chops. ∙ Between 2003 and 2008, m-flo released a series of “loves” recordings with a total of 41 different underground and mainstream collaborators. ∙ With its heavier EDM sound and four Top 20 singles, 2005’s Beat Space Nine became the group’s first chart-topping album. ∙ Colombian reggaetón idol J Balvin joined m-flo on the title theme of the award-winning anime film Human Lost, which was featured on the group’s 2019 album, KYO.
