Shellac

About Shellac

After more than a decade of influence as producer (Pixies, Nirvana) and post-hardcore performer (Rapeman, Big Black), Steve Albini recruited Volcano Suns’ Bob Weston and Brick Layer Cake’s Todd Trainer to form the plodding, methodical post-rock Shellac. Signed to Big Black’s former label, Touch And Go, Shellac released their acclaimed debut, AT ACTION PARK, in 1994. While the outfit toured sporadically due to numerous other commitments, they did release three more LPs between 1997 and 2000. However, it would be a full seven years before their fifth full-length, EXCELLENT ITALIAN GREYHOUND, emerged.
