Skyclad

About Skyclad

Combining pagan lyrics, crashing power-chords and electric violin to startling effect, innovative UK thrash/folk/rock crossover band Skyclad found U.K. acclaim by the early-1990s with complex classics on NOISE (including A BURNT OFFERING FOR THE BONE IDOL). Their superb fourth album, 1994’s PRINCE OF THE POVERTY LINE, featured excellent work from violinist Catherine Howell. After parting ways with Noise, the band moved to Massacre Records where they released a series of albums with a more pronounced folk sound. While founding member Martin Walkyier left in 2001, frustrated by the band’s financial status, a new line-up made their debut with 2004’s markedly heavier sounding, A Semblance Of Normality.
