Starbreaker

About Starbreaker

Starbreaker is a melodic, progressive hard rock and heavy metal group featuring powerhouse American vocalist Tony Harnell (TNT, Skid Row) and virtuosic Swedish guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Magnus Karlsson (Primal Fear, Allen/Lande). Initially conceived as a solo outing for Harnell while he was still fronting TNT, the project eventually spawned a full-fledged band, with Harnell, Karlsson, former TNT drummer John Macaluso, and bassist Fabrizio Grossi achieving a level of chemistry that suggested great things to come. Starbreaker's 2005 eponymous debut, released via Frontiers Records, found the sweet spot between AOR rock and aggressive power metal, as did the group's sophomore effort, 2008's Love's Dying Wish, which saw Jonni Lightfoot taking over bass duties from Fabrizio Grossi. Drummer Anders Köllerfors joined the team for album number three, 2018's hard-charging Dysphoria. ~ James Christopher Monger
