About The Virgins

The epitome of the New York City hipster band, the Virgins were formed by skinny young Manhattanite models Donald Cumming and Wade Oates while on a photo shoot abroad. Not surprisingly, the group’s sound is strongly inspired by a bevy of NYC acts, ranging from Talking Heads to the Strokes, with clear nods to Elvis Costello and XTC also thrown into the mix. Though the Virgins wear their influences on their sleeves, the ensemble’s aesthetic is undeniably engaging and entertaining, suggesting that the band may have a surprisingly long shelf life.
