About Ya Ho Wa 13

Ya Ho Wa 13 was sort of the psychedelic “rock” equivalent of the Sun Ra Arkestra. Father Yod was the leader of a California commune in the early 1970s, and he eventually led his followers to music. As Ya Ho Wa 13, they self-released several homemade albums in the '70s, featuring wild, psychedelic improvisations, with occasional assistance from Yod follower Sky Saxon of the Seeds. Yod passed away in 1975, and Ya Ho Wa 13 dissolved shortly afterward, but renewed interest brought about a reunion in 2008.
