Houston Dining Index - A Guide for Visitors (and Most Locals, Too)
This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
Houston is a terrific place to dine, one of the joys of the city. This guide is geared mainly to visitors to Houston, business travelers, for the most part, who might be overwhelmed by the seemingly endless development across the coastal plain.
This should also be very useful to newcomers and those in the suburbs who might feel the same. The establishments recommended are often the ones most accessible for those not familiar with the city, who are likely staying in a hotel downtown, the Galleria area, or in west Houston near one of the energy companies. Hard-to-find or distant dining destinations are avoided unless there is a chance it might be visited, likely as part of business function. The recommendations and profiles are independent and as objective as possible, the product of a lot of research and deep familiarity with the local dining scene.
Though the business traveler might be the primary target, there will be countless options for those visiting on a budget. The author has penned three editions of a guidebook entitled Houston Dining on the Cheap, after all.
