Plot Summary

They say he came from hell... now they'll find out. One-Eye, a great warrior of supernatural strength, is captured and held prisoner by a vindictive Viking Chief. Given the chance, he seizes the opportunity to kill his captors, and in escaping starts out on a journey into the heart of darkness. Boarding a Viking vessel set for the new world, the ship is engulfed in a sinister fog, signalling the trouble to come. Arriving in this brave new world, the Vikings face a grizzly fate as One-Eye unleashes the violent power within him. Valhalla Rising is a brutal epic from the producers of The Football Factory and the director of Bronson, and stars Mads Mikkelsen of Casino Royale.

Worst movie ever do not waste your time.

3 stars

Cinematographically, if thats a word, this film is quite eye-catching. Shot in varied landscapes, coupled to the music, it makes the film intriguing. Whilst the plot was clearly a secondary thought, and script in fact, the main character is compelling although under-developed. His loyalty and bravery are commendable. However the film will not be to everyone's taste but it was nice to watch a non-blockbuster alternative (for those of us who prefer alternative cinema).
Don't expect too much, just open your mind.

Valhalla Rising

absolue worst film ever, if you have the patience of a saint you might make it past the first couple of chapters hoping for something to happen but it never does. Expect long scenes of quite literally nothing, characters staring into space for ten minutes with disturbing music in the background and very little and pointless fight scenes. There is no semblance of a plot, sparce and undiscernable dialogue and long periods of stark nothingness. Film making at its most self indulgent. Do not waste your money or time with this.
