Why can't Israelis subscribe via the app?

Very well designed app, but due to the way subscriptions are implemented, customers from Israel cannot subscribe via the app: it uses the auto-renewal feature from the App Store and according to Apple, this feature is not supported in the Israeli storefront (it singles Israel specifically out). I would expect the devs of this app to mention this, or better still devise a way for us, Israelis, to subscribe to the magazine... (There is no problem purchasing individual issues, so it is not a credit card problem. Just weird and annoying quirk from Cupertino).

Otherwise, one of the best reading apps on the iPad.

Subscription from Israel

You can circumvent this problem by using an American address of family, friends, or whatever. As you stated correctly, it's not a problem of your credit card. Once you've filled out the address and corresponding zipcode, your payment goes through and you receive your suscription.
By the way, it's a good thing that Israel doesn't accept automatic extension of a subscription, the New Yorker should change this!

Perfect in every way

Absolutely nothing bad to say here - the app is slick, superbly usable, and its content obvious requires no recommendation from me :)
