Being a podcast for anyone who wants to understand Israel beyond the headlines

Customer Reviews

this promise delivers...

If you are looking for a new perspecitve on israeli/palestinian politics and culture, one that is superarticulate, personal, entertaining, insightful and informative - well, look no further. You have reached the Promised podcast.
Coming from a creative new thinktank that has just burst on the israeli scene - here are three guys, all american born, all living in Israel for many many years, working in academia, politics and social change - and they are incredibly thoughtful, eloquent - and above all - saying something new. They break not a few molds and stereotypes. Yes, they're progressive, but since they are all involved with trying to redraw some old and outdated lines in israeli politics - you wil be surprised at some unexpected views and insights on some headline issues - and some issues that haven't captured headlines or airtime, but are no less significant.
If i understand the format - they will choose 3 topics to discuss each time - this time it was the Palestinian declaration of statehood, the social protests, and the new leadership in the Labor Party - and just go at it with wit, verve and panache.
They achieve that rare mix of being funny and substantive
Fair disclosure: yes they are friends of mine. But since theyt are friends, i have no compunctions about telling them when they screw up. Guys - you didn't screw up .
But then again - i haven't heard the second installment.
Stay tuned.
