Siddharth Anand’s globe-trotting 2008 rom-com Bachna Ae Haseeno gets a suitably cosmopolitan treatment in a soundtrack composed by Vishal-Shekhar, with lyrics by Anvita Dutt Guptan. KK and Shilpa Rao provide playback on the sweet and sultry duet “Khuda Jaane”, amassing an ensemble of Indian classical instruments arranged in an expansive, contemporary style. Elsewhere, Spanish guitar pops in “Aahista Aahista” and neat call-backs to the classics—like the brassy blasts of Kishore Kumar sampled in title track “Bachna Ae Haseeno”—add splashes of technicolour to well-worn favourites.
