All songs on Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak's soundtrack are sung by either Udit Narayan or Alka Yagnik, or—in some cases—both. The mood of the album reflects Mansoor Khan's coming-of-age love story, with romantic lyrics written by Majrooh Sultanpuri. "Papa Kahte Hain" focuses on life's uncertainty, and the song eventually became a cult hit that would be be reprised in later Bollywood films. Lush duets "Ae Mere Humsafar", "Gazab Ka Hai Din" and "Akele Hain To Kya Gam Hai" prove why the film was the best-selling Bollywood soundtrack of 1988.
