Editors' Notes

State of Play’s brilliant adventure game lets you journey through a spellbinding paper world that has to be seen to be believed. Created in a complex process that’s part origami and part stop motion, Lumino City’s highly polished environments come to life like nothing you’ve ever seen. But it’s not just the backdrops that captivate—this unique point-and-click adventure melds clever puzzles with a heartwarming story to powerful effect.

Very high learning curve

Rajveer Kothari

Pros:
1. Great visuals and art style. Unique and enjoyable watching the game's visual feedback
2. Interesting puzzles to solve
3. Fun fiction

Cons:
1. Confusing game controls. There are times you know what's required to be done. However, the relevant control is not available to select. Move outside the scenario and the control you were looking for back there turns available. Very frustrating!
2. Grandpa's journal which consists of clues is unnecessarily crowded with information that is not relevant to you at the time you're looking for the clue. To top it, the journal runs into several hundred pages (~500) and you have to hunt for your clues through the gibberish that is repeated multiple times!
3. Lack of a dynamic hint system that nudges the player to the right direction. Or, a elements to interact with, controlling which perhaps gives you a delayed realization of what you must do.

I am quite hassled playing the game now and have put it away until I muster up courage to give it another shot. Luckily, just paid INR 80/- for it, so not feeling too bad.

Nice but with its quirks

ksprashu

Good game with interesting puzzles. However the graphics are highly detailed and minute and the game is best enjoyed on a large screen device like an iPad.

Pretty difficult to play on the iPhone. Has some quirks like touching a spot doesn't respond and have to try multiple presses to get the right hotspot.

tl;dr good game, but I expected more for my money
