That magical voice had cured me!
I’ve heard so many of short stories on podcast and yet listened to barely any. Because LeVar Burton’s soothing voice quietens my brain and helps me sleep. For someone who has battled sleep issues for so long, LeVar Burton is godsend!
My Favourite
My childhood self has come alive again listening to Levar read to me. I have encountered so many new authors from this podcast and even signed up for BetterHelp due to the ads. It's amazing to hear so many stories by queer and/or POC writers and to even hear them talk about their own books in the live tapings. Thank you for this representation!
I would love to suggest Where the Long Grass Bends by Neela Vaswani. I think the magical realism would fit perfectly with the podcast theme.
Amazing experience
Great collection of stories, masterfully told by Levar. I stumbled upon this podcast while looking for something to keep me company while driving home. Levar’s renditions do more than just that, they’ve got me hooked! To a point where sometimes I reach home and just wait in the parking lot till the story is finished!
I’d love to suggest a prolific Indian short story writer and author; if the team at Levar Burton Reads is taking suggestions.... please look up Ruskin Bond. He’s an Indian author who writes some beautiful short stories. I’m sure you’ll love his work and I hope I can listen to one of his stories through you!
Thank you again for putting this podcast out. Keep up the good work!
