Note dalla redazione - iTunes

This “Very Best” collection focuses on the Eric Clapton to Jeff Beck incarnation of the group. (The Jimmy Page era can be heard on the album Little Games and the Beck-Page single, “Happenings Ten Years Time Ago”/ “Psycho Daisies,” available on the Roger the Engineer / Over Under Sideways Down re-master). The most interesting track here is the “Sitar Version” of “Heart Full of Soul” that frustrated Beck enough to eventually emulate the sound on his guitar for the single version. The addition of their most important material, “For Your Love,” “ Train Kept a Rollin’” and “Shapes of Things” along with the Gregorian chants of “Still I’m Sad,” the tough blues of “Smokestack Lightning,” “I’m A Man” and “Too Much Monkey Business” and the Beck-Page matchup on “Stroll On,” a re-jumbling of “Train Kept a Rollin’” from the film soundtrack to Antonioni’s Blow Up make this a solid introduction to the group’s diverse capabilities as one of Britain’s most important groups of the ‘60s.
