The 2011 Kistemaker Academic Lecture Series (KALS) speaker was Dr. Richard Bauckham. The annual KALS was held on the campus of RTS Orlando on February 22-23, 2011. The theme of the series was "The Gospels as Histories: What Sort of History Are They?" Dr. Bauckham, FBA, FRSE, is currently Professor Emeritus at St. Andrews University in Edinburgh, Scotland, and is Senior Scholar at Ridley Hall, Cambridge, where he teaches for the Cambridge Federation of Theological Colleges. He is also a Visiting Professor at St. Mellitus College, London. Dr. Bauckham earned his Ph.D. from Cambridge. He is a Fellow of the British Academy and a Fellow of the Royal Society in Edinburgh. In 2009 he was awarded the Michael Ramsey prize for his book "Jesus and the Eyewitnesses," and in 2010 the Franz-Delitzsch Award for a a volume of collected essays, "The Jewish World Around the New Testament." He also writes poetry and has published online two children's story books about the MacBears of Bearloch.
