bodyCal2 is a Body Mass Index (BMI), and a Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) calculator for the iPad, with built in BMI and BMR tracking.
Your BMI can be an indicator of general health and there are published guidelines for your ideal BMI, that is, your ideal weight for your height. Your BMR tells you how many calories you need to consume per day to maintain your current weight.
The calculator can be used with metric, pound, or imperial measurements. Weight can be entered in kilograms (kilos, kg), pounds (lb) or stones (st) and pounds (lb), and your height in meters (m), or feet (ft) and inches (in). You can even enter your height in meters, and your weight in pounds and the calculator will still work out your BMI and BMR.
The calculator will report your BMI and BMR and automatically converting between different units. So, for example if you enter your weight as pounds the calculator can also tell you your weight in kilograms, and it will convert between meters and feet and inches.
For your BMI the calculator will give you the ideal weight range in your preferred units. Plus, if you are over or under-weight the calculator will report by how much you need to change your weight to get to your ideal BMI.
bodyCal2 can also record your BMI and BMR over time and display your results on a graph. This make bodyCal2 ideal for tracking your weight change, and calorie requirements, whether for dieting (weight control) or as part of your general fitness program.
