    Couch Potatoes

    Couch Potatoes

This week it's all about TV. Lewis, Sydnie, and Mattie all watched Marvel's Agents of Shield premiere together and review it and give their final thoughts afterwards.

Was the pilot enough to keep them watching or will their love for Marvel and all things Avengers have to sustain them?

Lewis gives us his review on I Spit on Your Grave and its sequel, Sydnie and Mattie watch the 2nd episode of Sleepy Hollow (and from the sounds of things, it looks like they'll keep watching in spite of the sexy witches), and Sydnie and Lewis sum up the pilot of The Blacklist in about 2 minutes.

Mattie clues us in on a new show called Cold Justice and talks about her experience volunteering for the Supernatural Convention over the weekend. Find out if she thought if getting this was worth it:

    Remakes, Prequels, and Sequels

    Remakes, Prequels, and Sequels

This week we talk about the new Fox show Sleepy Hollow and our impressions of the premiere and if we'll keep watching to see if they can sustain the show and our interest.

While watching, we discovered they're remaking this classic movie:

Speaking of remakes, they are remastering Wizard of Oz in 3D, which only reminds us of the gloriousness that Jurassic Park in 3D was and how Lewis will take any sequel of Jurassic Park that Hollywood gives us.
We also talk about the twitter genius of Jayden Smith:

and how JK Rowling is writing a screenplay to expand the magical world of Harry Potter along with a chat on the new Riddick sequel, Affleck as Batman, and a few Miyazaki films.

    Stems the Tide

    Stems the Tide

This week we find out that Lewis is quickly catching up on Breaking Bad (now that it's ending), and the answer to a very important question, what kind of laundry soap does Mattie use?

We also discuss a new app (that actually upon posting this isn't anything what Mattie thought it was, and we apologize), board games that become movies (and which one should be next, Candy Land anyone?), and a few movie updates: the casting of Fifty Shades of Grey, a new movie called The Grandmaster, and Lewis and Sydnie's review of the new film The Butler, which in a nutshell is the black Forrest Gump:

Also, apparently Goldie Hawn is impossible to hate and Big Brother is still a thing. Speaking of, we make a list of what shows we'll keep watching and some possible ones we'll pick up as we start the new season. What shows will you watch?

    Love, Loss, and Technology

    Love, Loss, and Technology

WELCOME to our first podcast as Media and Pop!

For our first episode with our new name, we discuss the early days of Facebook, the love/hate relationship we have with technology: hate being crappy phones, and love being memes like this, this, or this.

And how can we talk about love and loss without talking about celebrities? Specifically J Lo, which brings us to this lovely video and her stalker. Lewis also has a list of all the celebrities that he thinks should just come out of the closet already, and you might find some of the people surprising (or predictable?). But then again, maybe they're just European? It's hard to tell.

We also have a quick chat on the new movie based off a book, The Book Thief, what Sydnie and Mattie thought of this movie,

and what Lewis thought of this one:

    Media Overload

    Media Overload

On this week's podcast, the theme of the hour is how we just have so much media consume we can't consume any of it cause we don't have time! Sydnie and Mattie give a quick review of the movie 2 Guns, which leads to a discussion of Mark Wahlberg, SNL, and how Eddie Murphy went the way of children's movies into obscurity. And for some housekeeping, because of technical difficulties, this is the last podcast as Gramblings. We've changed our name (which you've probably noticed by now) and have switched hosting sites. Thanks for listening and bearing with us while we transition!

    Times of Change

    Times of Change

This podcast we talked all about changes in TV, media, and Doctor Who. We also have an awesome guest, Sydnie's friend Brandolon. We discuss Amazon's Jeff Bezos buying the Washington Post and what that could mean for both the newspaper itself and news in general. We of course talk about this guy:

There's also talk about Time Warner Cable's dispute with CBS and dropping the network in major cities and how CBS and other networks should/could change how they distribute shows since we've changed how we watch TV.

Speaking of TV, we discuss a little about a new show on A&E called Low Winter Sun that Sydnie's excited about because it's got Mark Strong. If you watched it, let us know what you think!

We also learn how Brandolon believes in love and hope unlike the rest of us, and how Wolverine wasn't everything Lewis wanted it to be (and what is really)?
