避けて越されぬミシシッピ川

ブルーズが好きになると、ミシシッピを下流から遡るにせよ、上流から下るにせよ、シカゴと南部をつなぐ、この人は避けられません。その魅力がぐっと濃縮したこの一枚は、ブルーズの入り口としても最適かも。ストーンズがチェスのスタジオで初めて録音した時、憧れのこの人の所在をスタジオでペンキを塗ってたおっさんに聞いたところ「そりゃ、俺のことだよ」と本人に言われてしまったという有名なエピソードがあります。貧乏でバイトをしてたそうで、なんともブルーズ的な逸話。
