Album Review

This is the CD reissue of the first LP by Caetano Veloso and Gal Costa (Philips, 1967). Each one had already recorded singles the year before, when the Vila Velha gang had participated in the staging of Arena Conta Bahia. This album is completely different from the expected, knowing that in the following year Veloso would be releasing the highly revolutionary Caetano Veloso, where the Tropicalia movement was launched. With the exception of three songs, the rest of the 12 tracks were composed by Veloso, highlights being the all-time hit "Coração Vagabundo," "Avarandado," and "Domingo."
