Album Review

On The Hope Six Demolition Project, Polly Jean Harvey builds on the political commentary that made Let England Shake so riveting. Sharing a name with a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development plan to revitalize public housing, the album reflects Harvey's trips to Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Washington, D.C., and was recorded in part at the London cultural center Somerset House. Songs such as "The Wheel" and "The Community of Hope" reflect Harvey's globally minded perspectives.
