The Cave is a new adventure game from Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion creator Ron Gilbert, and Double Fine Productions, the award-winning studio behind Psychonauts and Brütal Legend.

日本語化できます

有志の方が日本語化パッチを作成、配布しています。
ただ、Windowsでしかパッチ当てができないため、BootcampやCrossOverなどの環境が必要になります。
日本語化したほうがはるかに楽しいです。

あと私の環境ではスペック的に少しつらいところがありました。

エフェクト全てオフ＋解像度を1440→1024でやっと違和感なく動きます。

若干ネタバレ、というか攻略ページでも見ないと気づかないことですが、エンディングはバッドエンディングの他に、グッドエンディングが用意されています。
エンディング直前の最後の行動で切り変わりますので、気にしてみてください。

7人という数が微妙だが…

PS3やWiiU版は音声まで全て日本語にローカライズされているらしいが、こちらは全編英語である。
台詞が分からなくても一応遊べるが、ナレーションがゲームの面白さの一つでもあるらしいので、気になる方は日本語版の購入をおすすめする。

ゲーム自体は謎解きをしつつ物語を進める形となっており、難しすぎず簡単すぎずの丁度良い難易度。
ステージにあるオブジェクトの数がそれほど多くないので、詰まったらそれらの使い道を考え直すと意外とあっさり進める事が多い。
たまに操作にタイミングやテクニックが必要な所もあるが、それほど難しい訳でも無いし、何度死んでも大丈夫なのでアクションゲームが苦手な人も問題なく遊べると思われる。

ゲームの流れとしては、ゲーム開始時にそれぞれ違う特殊能力を持ったキャラクターを3人選び、選んだキャラクターのオリジナルステージ3つ、全キャラ共通ステージ3つ(+チュートリアル)をクリアするとエンディングとなる。

特殊能力を使うと意外な所でショートカット出来る点が素晴らしい。
最初1時間以上ウンウン頭を悩ませながらクリアしたステージが、2週目では特殊能力を使うと3分でクリア出来る、などという事もある。

また、このゲームは3Dなのでそれなりのスペックが必要になるが、画面サイズの変更や細かいエフェクトやフィルタのONOFFも出来るので、性能の低いPCでも割と快適に遊べるのでは無いかと思う。

欠点は全7キャラしかいないと言う所。3キャラ選べる仕様なら6キャラか9キャラにして欲しい。3週目は8割方遊んだ事があるステージを1キャラの為に遊び直す事になってしまう。
また、ステージによっては英語の意味が分からないと中々進めなかったり、少し理不尽な理由( 制作者の意図した演出にさせる為 )で迷う事もある。攻略サイトを見ない主義の人は注意。
3Dゲームなので極まれに地面に埋まって動けなくなる事があるが、その時はセーブしてから起動し直すと安全な位置に移動してくれている。

おもしろい

思った以上に面白い。

謎解きメインで、日本語は無し。
７人のキャラクターがいて、最初に３人選ぶ。
各キャラクターごとに特殊能力があり、
それを使ったりしてCAVE(洞窟)を、
謎を解きながら進んでいく。

穴名の中にいくつかステージがあり、
そのステージごとに謎を解く。

７人それぞれにストーリーがあり、
途中途中でその人物のストーリーがポストカード（壁画？）
形式で明らかになっていく。

ステージは、選んだキャラクターによってもある程度変わる。
どのキャラクターを選んでも出てくるステージと、
キャラクターのストーリーに関係するステージ、
でCAVE(洞窟)は構成される。

英語がわからなくても雰囲気で謎は解ける。
ストーリーもポストカード形式なので何となくわかる。
けど英語がわかった方が何倍も楽しいと思う。

あと、mac book air(2012 mid corei7)でやった場合、
ファンがガンガン回る。
設定である程度は描画の精度とかを変えられるので、
それで対応した。

なかなかオススメ。
迷ってる人はYOUTUBEにトレーラーがあるので、
見てみるといいかも。
