Banda Maguey

About Banda Maguey

Mexican 12-piece Banda Maguey started playing local traditional music in their native Villa Corona before taking over Jalisco with their onda grupera style. The band made their debut with Tumbando Caña in 1994. They climbed local charts with the tracks "Corazón de Oro" and "El Alacrán" and performed live for the first time in the U.S. that same year. After issuing El Mundo Gira, featuring the hit single "Pero Te Amo," in 1997, Banda Maguey signed with BMG U.S. Latin for the next year's Lágrimas de Sangre.
