About Games

New York City unit Games was formed by ex-Busy Signals bassist and Sing Sing Records founder Jeremy Thompson in 2010 after moving from Chicago to the Big Apple. With Busy Signals having run their course, Thompson assembled a new host of friends to begin Games, sticking to bass and vocals himself and recruiting Dave Rahn on drums and guitarists Dustan Nigro and John Fraiser Carpenter. The band's sound was inspired by both the gritty punk roots that informed Thompson's previous band the Carbonas as well as the '70s glam and power pop sounds of acts like Milk 'N' Cookies and the Raspberries. Georgia label Rob's House Records released the band's first single in 2011 and the band stayed relatively quiet until the Hozac release of their self-titled full-length in 2012. ~ Fred Thomas
