Los Nastys

About Los Nastys

Los Nastys are a high-energy garage band from Madrid, Spain who proudly celebrate their numerous influences -- from early psychedelia and punk to post-punk and indie rock, with a defiant lo-fi aesthetic. Their songwriting consistently contrasts millennial outrage with irreverent humor, framed in irresistible hooks and group choruses. Their music is almost always played fast. Songwriters and guitarists Luis and Fran Basilio formed the group quite literally in their grandfather's garage in mid-2013. By January of 2014, they had independently issued their debut EP, Me Lo Encontré Así, which featured the club hit "Okinawa, Olvídate de Mí." It was re-released internationally when the band signed to Warner in May. In October they followed with the five-track EP La Isla de los Cuadrados Mágicos. They toured Spain and Western Europe incessantly. Five different tracks appeared on international charts that year. A non-album pre-release single, "Never Digas Never," was issued at the end of January 2016, followed by the full-length Noche de Fantasmas in March. A compilation album containing single, EP, and unreleased tracks was released as Cannibal Business by Nacional in June. ~ Thom Jurek
