めざまし英会話27回目はCase27 Ordering Food at the Food Court（フードコートで注文してみよう！）です。
フードコートで注文する時の英会話でありそうでなかなかないので、ぜひココで覚えていってくださいね。
「Is this for here or to go?」まずは店内かテイクアウトか聞かれます。ここでつまづくと、後が大変なのでしっかり聴き取れるようにしておきましょうね！
今回、かなり気合いを入れてBGMを作ってみました。フードコートの内容なのに何だか壮大な曲になってしまい、ちょっと違和感もありますが（笑）でも、お気に入りの曲になったので、ぜひそこら辺も合わせてお楽しみくださいね^^

【C】OK. Would you like fried rice or steamed rice?

【C】Is there any side dish you want to add?
【Y】3 spring rolls and some boiled vegetables, please. May I have sweet chili sauce on the side?
【C】Yes, you may. Anything to drink?

めざまし英会話26回目はCase26 Asking for a Refill on Drinks and Bills at a Restaurant（「コーヒーお代わり！」と「お会計！」）です。　
コーヒーのお代わりもらえますか？は英語で「May I have a refill for my coffee?」でいけますよ。
ちなみに「お代わりいかが？」は「Would you like a refill?」なんて聞かれたりしますので、覚えておくと良いかもですね^^
You bet.は「もちろん」や「お安い御用です」という意味ですが、相手にThank you!と言われた時などに「どういたしまして！」という意味でも使えますよ。これスマートに言えるとカッコいいかもですね☆

めざまし英会話25回目はCase25 Having Breakfast at a Restaurant（レストランで朝食を）です。
sunny-side upってどんな卵料理なんでしょうか？答えは目玉焼きですね^^

そして、一口にBread=パンと言っても色んな種類があるものですね。whole-wheat, honey wheat, oat, 6 grains, white breadなどなど。
これを矢継ぎ早に言われても？？？になってしまうので、ぜひ予習していってくださいね☆
今回は初の6分越えになりましたので、曲作るのが大変でした〜。でも爽やかで良い感じではないでしょうか？

【Clerk】Good morning, Ma’am. How many of you will be eating?
【You】Just one.
【C】OK, come this way. I have a table for you. How about this window-side one?
【Y】That’s perfect, thank you.
【C】Here is the menu. Would you like something to drink to start with?
【Y】Just a glass of water for now.
【C】OK. I will be right back.

【C】Are you ready for me to take your order?
【Y】Oh, I have a question…. What is “house favorite plate #3”?
【C】 It has 2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon or 2 sausages, potatoes & buttered toast, and 2 pancakes with maple syrup or 2 pieces of French toast.
【Y】Hmmm… that sounds fantastic. OK, I will try that one.
【C】OK. How would you like your eggs… boiled, scrambled, or sunny-side up?
【Y】Scrambled eggs, please.
【C】Would you like bacon strips or sausages?
【Y】Bacon strips sound good to me. Would you please make them crispy?
【C】Sure. What about pancakes or French toast?
【Y】Pancakes.
【C】 OK. What kind of bread would you like for your toast?

ホテルの朝食も素敵ですが、せっかく海外に行くのであれば、リーズナブルなカフェでお洒落に食べるのもいいですね☆今回は「Do you have any recommendations?」と「I am sure you will like it.」に注目して聴いてみてくださいね。どちらも他のシーンでも使える表現ですよ^^

Case24 Asking about a breakfast place at the hotel front desk

【Clerk】Hello. How may I help you?

【You】Yes, I would like to know where I can have breakfast in this hotel tomorrow morning.

【C】Breakfast will be served in the coffee shop on the first floor.

【Y】What time do they serve it?

【C】They serve from 6 to 11am. It’s a continental breakfast.

【Y】How much will it be?

【C】It’s $20.

【Y】That’s a bit expensive.
Are there any good restaurants or cafés serving breakfast around here?

【C】 Yes, we have several.

【Y】Do you have any recommendations?

【C】I recommend Mike’s café, which is only two blocks from here toward Western St.
They serve delicious cheesy omelettes with German sausages as a morning special.
Their fresh-squeezed orange juice is worth a try.
I am sure you will like it.

【Y】That sounds really good, actually!
Maybe we will try it tomorrow morning, then.

めざまし英会話23回目はCase23 Asking about metro stations（地下鉄を使った行き方を聞いてみよう）です。
前回の道案内が好評でしたので、今回は地下鉄の駅までの行き方と、乗り換えなどをどのように尋ねているかを聴いてみましょう☆特に「Is it within walking distance?」はとっても大事ですね。歩く距離じゃない場合は、タクシーではなく地下鉄を利用してみるのも1つですね。ちょっと長めのセリフもありますが、何度も聴いて言えるようになってしまいましょう〜^^

Case23 Asking about metro stations

【You】Excuse me.

We are looking for North Coast Plaza and it seems like we are going in the wrong direction.

Is it within walking distance?

【Man】No, it’s actually quite far from here. You should take a metro.

That would be the easiest way to bring you there.

【Y】Thank you. How can I get to the nearest metro station from here?

【M】It’s just 3 blocks from here.

You should keep going straight on this street, and you will see the post office on the right-hand side.

You can find the metro station called “Sunset Station” next to the post office.

【Y】OK, then at which station are we getting off?

【M】“Capital City Hall Station” is the one where you need to get off.

It is only 5 stops from Sunset Station.

【Y】Do we need to transfer between trains?

【M】No, you don’t need to transfer. Just go straight through.

【Y】Wonderful. I appreciate your help.

【M】You are welcome. Enjoy your day.
