Description

Image acquisition program for Quantum Scientific Imaging, Inc. 500/600-series CCD cameras.

Provides control of camera exposure parameters including filter selection (if camera is equipped with a filter wheel).
Provides graphical subframe selection.
Provides visual focusing capability augmented with FWHM (Full-Width, Half Maximum) and HFR (Half-Flux Radius) measurements.

An unlimited number of exposure requests can be submitted for automatic processing.

Image data can be saved in FITS (Flexible Image Transfer System) or TIFF formats.

What's New in Version 1.2

Note: As a result of sandboxing requirements this new version of QSEye no longer has a default location in which acquired image data is saved. You will be required to specify a save folder in order to enqueue processing requests.

Persistent settings
"Alerts & Temperature" and "Imaging" windows
Any changes made (with the exception of the subframe settings in the "Imaging" window) are persisted and re-instantiated on subsequent camera connection.
The "Imaging" window subframe setting is always set to its full frame value which is then adjusted by the first filter binning settings which are persisted.
Settings are maintained per-camera based on model and serial number.

"Camera Connect" window will automatically miniaturize when a successful connection to a camera is established.

"Alerts & Temperature" window
Added tracing views for for CCD and heatsink temperatures as well as power consumption.

"Imaging" window
Added a fast readout option to the subframe selection; enabled based on camera support.
This option is independent of the same option in the "Exposures" window.
Added a set of exposure duration controls for subframing.
These controls are independent of those in the "Exposures" window.

"Exposures" window
Added a fast readout option; enabled based on camera support.
This option is independent of the same option in the "Imaging" window.
A new FITS keyword (QREADOUT) is used in images saved as FITS files representing the readout mode selected for the exposure.
Value is either QUALITY or SPEED.
Added a total exposure time field to let you know the amount of time required by the exposures you're adding.

Focusing
Changed to utilize the maximum binning values the camera supports.
The area of the CCD to use is controlled by the subframe settings in the "Imaging" window.

"Progress" window
Added elapsed and remaining time fields for the current exposure.
Added remaining time field for all exposures.
Added an estimated completion field as to date and time the exposures will finish.

FITS Metadata
In addition to displaying the FITS metadata keywords, QSEye will also display the image (if any) the FITS file contains. This is contingent on the metadata describing the image being consistent (particularly for a multi-HDU file having consistent image dimensions and pixel depth).

Image display
All windows displaying an image now incorporate black and white level adjustment sliders.
When the window is displayed (or re-displayed) the values of the sliders are continually updated from the image being displayed.
Once a manual adjustment to either slider is made any new images displayed in the window are displayed according to the set black and white levels.

On-line help has been updated per the above.
