Atherothrombosis is the major cause of the acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and cardiovascular death. Platelets play a substantial role in atherothrombosis, and therapy targeting platelets has the potential to improve outcomes from ACS. This podcast series presents an overview of new and up-to-date research on the management of patients with ACS. The series is designed to increase knowledge of current therapeutic strategies, cardiac assessment and diagnosis, and biologic platelet responses, with the ultimate goal of improving the care of cardiac patients.
