Great, but...
I love this app. It shows me great content that is relevant to me, headlines from around the world (more like from the US/Trump), and lets me add topics and personalize everything. My problem is with the AI. It shows me too much of the content I usually watch on YouTube (tech), and very few actual news. I have been clicking the "fewer stories like this" for weeks, without much success. The notifications, enabled to the maximum amount, are underwhelming as well. I got 17 notifications in the past 10 days, mostly about iPhone hacks and tech related things, very few breaking news type. 1.7 notifications per day is nothing, and they're not even about urgent, important matters.
I love the idea of a personalized news app, but Google News takes it too far. It's looks more like a social media feed than a news feed. Even the headline tab doesn't show the most important news. I am comparing many news app at the moment, and feel like I would miss a lot of news by only reading Google News. Fixing notifications is a must.
Fix it please asap! It is not user friendly, let google fix it then users can use it
The “For You” section is really bad, you just keel on scrolling down to read news...
Fix it by making it same style as “Headlines” and divide inside it the news through sections based on my selections in the favorite, group them by topic related to”topics” and also “locations”
Also add a night view for the app.
I used to have all the above on my google news page and suddenly it disappeared i am not sure why...
I hope you take seriously these comments into consideration for improving your app, waiting for the new release of the app!

Forcing language and region combinations
You cannot assume all the people in a country speak or would like to view the app in one language!! I selected Lebanon and the only option was arabic! Separate them.
