One of 1989's more unorthodox, entertaining and completely overlooked sessions. Vocalist/guitarist Daryle Rice's songs were alternately funny, witty, satirical and thoughtful, covering everything from traditional blues to folk, jazz and country. Her compositions were so personal and noncommercial that she didn't have the remotest hope of getting any attention from the trendy types dominating radio. But few songs have made their point more effectively than "Put Me In The Movies," a number that shredded the celebrity culture without becoming preachy.
