Album Review

As part of Collectables' Great Group Series, the Orioles are featured on this budget-priced compilation. Among the ten tracks are the original versions of their two chart-topping hits, "Tell Me So" (1948) and "Crying in the Chapel" (1953), along with lesser-heard items such as "Waiting," "Trust in Me," "I Cover the Waterfront," and "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me," a Top Ten hit for singer Mel Carter in the early '60s. Even though their first number one hit from 1948, "It's Too Soon to Know," is absent, this is an enjoyable and effective overview.
