Album Review

F-Minus' self-titled debut album harks back to the old school of early '80s California hardcore, as brief songs rocket past in a blur of speed. While the group does have a distinctly '90s sensibility, its raw production gives the music a bite that often gets ironed out of many '90s punk releases. Some songs don't quite hit the mark, but they're surrounded by enough good ones that it isn't quite as noticeable.

SoCal punks F-Minus comprised singer/guitarist Brad Logan, guitarist Sarah Lee, bassist Jennifer Johnson, and drummer Chris Lagerborg. The group debuted in 1998 with a pair of 7" EPs — the Hellcat release Failed Society and Pelado Records' Won't Bleed Me — featuring 19 songs spread between them.
