Album Review

The third and final record from Snuff before their hiatus doesn't quite have the energy that was captured on Reach and their previous records. Still, highlights such as "The Damage Is Done," "Spend, Spend, Spend," and "Hellbound" (an instrumental homage to slasher flicks) make this album worthwhile, although it doesn't make up for a majority of the tracks that have a tone of redundancy to them. Where's the trombone player? And more importantly, where are all the silly cover songs?

Unhappy with what they were hearing on BBC Radio, the members of Snuff got together in 1986 with the intention of "taking the piss out" of mainstream music and to have a little fun. With the original line-up consisting of Simon on guitar, Andy on bass, and Duncan on drums/vocals (last names unavailable), Snuff shot around England for three years before Workers Playtime released their first album, entitled Snuff Said, in 1989.
