One of Germany's most celebrated DJs and remixers, Paul Van Dyk is best known for spinning in leading clubs in Europe, but he's also brought his talents to the airwaves, hosting a weekly radio program called VONYC in which he brings his latest finds in house and progressive dance music to the airwaves. VONYC Sessions 2009 is a two-disc set in which Van Dyk programs a set of top favorites that he aired on his show in 2009; along with several tracks from Van Dyk himself, the album includes recordings by Alex M.O.R.P.H., Ben Nicky, Filo & Perry with Eric Lumiere, Simon Patterson, David Forbes, and many more.

From early Berlin techno and house through progressive trance, producer/DJ Paul van Dyk has soundtracked the German electronic dance scene ever since he moved to the city and began mixing in 1988. A native of a German town near Frankfurt, van Dyk first heard house music on the radio during the mid-'80s. Soon he was experimenting with a rudimentary turntable setup, and after hitting Berlin, he gigged around the city.
