Diego Bernal

About Diego Bernal

San Antonio, Texas-based underground rap producer Diego Bernal cited influences that ranged from Latin (e.g., Trio los Panchos, Joe Bataan) and jazz (Charles Mingus, McCoy Tyner) to hip-hop (J Dilla) and R&B (Bill Withers). In 2009, Bernal unveiled his debut album, For Corners, a collection of mostly instrumental left-field hip-hop beats in the mode of J Dilla's Donuts. Besides..., released almost exactly a year later, was his follow-up. ~ Jason Birchmeier
