About Kiko Zambianchi

At the age of 13, Kiko Zambianchi started to play in a protestant church in his hometown. Encouraged to dedicate himself to cultural activities, he participated in amateur festivals and theater plays until he was 15. After that, Zambianchi staged his own shows, forming the rock band Vida de Rua, which he later abandoned in favor of a change of style towards MPB. At 21 he moved to São Paulo, and in less than a month recorded his first single, "Rolam as Pedras." The first solo album came in 1985, Choque (EMI), which had hits with the title track, "Rolam as Pedras," and "Chove." In the same year, Marina Lima recorded "Eu Te Amo Você." Quadro Vivo's (1986) "Alguém" was included in the soundtrack of TV Globo's soap opera Roda de Fogo, which brought Zambianchi national success. In 1990, he achieved national success again with a Brazilian version of the Beatles' "Hey Jude" by Rossini Pinto, included in the Top Model soap opera. In 1995 Simony re-recorded "Primeiros Erros." ~ Alvaro Neder
