About Papermoon

Viennese duo Papermoon were founded in 1991 by guitarist Christof Straub and singer Edina Thalhammer, and quickly garnered attention for their appealing mixture of folk and pop. Austrian radio station Ö3 played their song "Night After Night" on heavy rotation in 1992, and the group's debut album, Tell Me a Poem, was released the same year, reaching number one on the Austrian album charts. However, two follow-up albums, The World in Lucy's Eyes and Papermoon, were less successful. In 1996, Thalhammer left the group, first replaced by Roumina Straub and then by Barbara Pichler, but when her solo project Tau proved unsuccessful, she returned to Papermoon in 2004. A number of successful albums followed, and 2007's Verzaubert was the first release to feature exclusively German lyrics. ~ Christian Genzel
